Abu Dhabi, UAE
An interior design commission for a seafood restaurant in Abu Dhabi, conceived around a coastal palette that evokes the Gulf's maritime heritage without resorting to literal nautical decoration. The space is organised across three distinct zones — a raw bar and lounge entry, a main dining room, and a private dining room at the rear — each sharing a common material vocabulary but maintaining its own atmosphere. The entry zone features a curved oyster-white raw bar counter in veined white marble with brass trim, backlit by a continuous LED strip behind the bottle display and topped with sea glass pendant lighting in pale aquamarine. The main dining room introduces warm natural textures — woven seagrass wall panels, bleached oak joinery, and linen-upholstered chairs in salt-white and driftwood grey — while the ceiling is treated with freeform sculptural panels in whitewashed timber that suggest the underside of a jetty deck. In the private dining room, tone deepens: dark teal lacquered walls, a ceiling of hand-rubbed plaster in a warm sand colour, and a bespoke table in bookmatched Calacatta marble with a raw brass base.
